Walk-a-Week
(Bruce Dewey)
The Civil War walk
will be the next Tuesday night walk, as this will be on the fifth
Tuesday of the month. This will be the first "official" time back to
it since the kick-off walk in early spring. The starting point will
be at the Hoyt Park parking lot, not the normal starting point of the
Inn Towner.

Ed Reid
Ed would like to see
more people doing these events.
Sun Prairie Walk
It was believed that
77 people did this event.
St. Benedict Center Walk
This will be held on
July 17. Bruce Dewey indicated that Don Suloff was looking for
volunteers for this event and Bruce handed around a sign-up sheet for
those willing to work for an hour or an hour and a half.
Tom Doyle asked if
there would be a workers walk before the 17th. Bruce said he would
ask Don about that.
Information Emails
(Bruce Dewey)
Bruce commended
Bonnie Hamer on the informational emails she sends out once a week
regarding upcoming events. He indicated that if people are not
getting this information, they should give Bonnie their email
address. Bonnie received a round of applause for all her work.
Walk and Eat Gang
(Bruce Dewey)
The walk for tomorrow
is the La Crosse walk. People will meet around 10:15 a.m. and start
walking at 10:30. The starting point is the normal one, and after the
walk they will find a place to eat. He said that he had been advised
that the walk really needs to be revised. Tom Doyle indicated that
Bonnie Johnson (our Regional Director) had walked it and had mentioned
that it needed to be changed.
Bruce mentioned that
if there are any questions about the Tuesday night walks or the Walk
and Eat Gang, they are both mentioned in the yearly club booklet. He
also indicated that Russ Crane and Karen Reger are usually available
on Tuesday nights for those people who wish to walk with someone at a
slower pace. Russ pointed out that both the Tuesday night and the
Walk and Eat Gang information was on the website. Russ got a round of
applause for all the work he does managing the website.
European Trip
(Barb Borde)
If people are
interested in the trip, they can still call Ed-Ventures. There are 24
presently signed up. Elke, from the travel company, will be coming to
the August membership meeting to meet with those in the Madison area
who are going on the trip. This will start at 6:00 p.m., with the
regular meeting starting at 7:00 at the Middleton public library.
Elke will bring the airline tickets and any other papers. The
question was brought up about flying from Madison to Chicago. Barb
indicated the cost for this, and said that it might be possible to
take a bus to O'Hare, which would be cheaper.
Newsletter
(Bonnie Hamer)
Bonnie indicated that
normally a newsletter comes out after a Board meeting, but she thought
she'd send one out after this meeting and before the St. Benedict
walk. She would like any submissions by July 1.
