| Description: |
Yellowstone Lake State Park is in
the driftless area of southwest Wisconsin. This 1,000-acre park, with an
additional 455-acre lake, offers visitors ample space to enjoy camping,
swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking and picnicking. When the glaciers
retreated from Wisconsin some 10,000 years ago, the hills and valleys of
southwestern Wisconsin were not left with any sizable, natural lakes. In 1947
Wisconsin decided to make this beautiful lake. It was completed in 1954. There
is also an additional 4,000-acre Yellowstone Wildlife Area next to Yellowstone
Lake State Park. |
