A Mid-Wisconsin Walking Weekend Event.
This is one of three events we are hosting this weekend.

Start Point:

The Highground, W7031 Ridge Road, Neillsville.  Look for signs and the AVA banner.

Hours:
Start between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.  Finish by 3:00 p.m.

Distance:

10K & 5K
Rating:
2 (Scale 1 to 5 with 5 being the most difficult.) Not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

Directions:

From Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids: Turn Right (west) on E Grand Avenue. Continue on Grand as it becomes WI-73. Continue west on WI-73 until it intersects with US-10 at Neillsville.  Turn Left (west) on US-10.  Continue 3.8 miles. The Highground is on the left, just off US-10 at Ridge Road. 

From Madison: Take I-94 North to the US-12 exit (Exit 115) in Black River Falls.  Take US-12 North for 16 miles to County B. Turn Right on “B” to US-10.  Right on US-10 for  3.2 miles. The Highground is on the right, just off US-10 at Ridge Road. 

Parking:
Ample  parking is available. 
Description:

The Highground is a veterans memorial park that pays tribute to the dead, and honors the survivors, their service, and their sacrifices. Today, The Highground has tributes to Vietnam Veterans, Women Veterans, the Native American Vietnam Veterans, WWI Veterans, WWII Veterans, Korean Veterans, and families that supported and lost loved ones through the Gold Star Tribute and Fountain of Tears. In addition, The Highground has a Dove Effigy Mound, a Meditation Garden, 4 miles of hiking trails and a Learning Center.

Optional walks in the community of Neillsville will also be available for additional distance credit.  Only one event stamp.

There will be no award for this event.
Registration: There will be no pre-registration.

$3.00  - Credit only

Pets:
Pets will not be allowed.

Water and facilities will be available at the start/finish.
