From US 151 (North or South) take Exit 40 on to Business 151.
Take the first left after the Quality Inn on to Shake Rag Street (at the
Pendarvis State Historic Site sign). Look for signs and the AVA banner. |

| Description: |
Mineral Point is where Wisconsin began, as the first Governor of
the Territory of Wisconsin took the oath of office here in 1836. The route takes
you on city streets, past historic points of interest, one of Wisconsin’s oldest
cemeteries, park galleries and studios. Note the limestone and sandstone
buildings built by the early Cornish lead miners. Mineral Point is the
award-winning pasty capital of Wisconsin. |
