Please Note: These are new directions due to road
construction in area.
High Cliff State Park is located on the northeast corner of Lake Winnebago. From
Madison take Hwy 151 through Fond du Lac to Hwy 55. Take Hwy 55 north to Hwy 114
in Sherwood. In Sherwood, turn left on Clifton Rd immediately after passing the
intersection of Hwy 114 and County M. Clifton will become Spring Hill Rd and
leads directly to High Cliff State Park. Look for the walk signs and the AVA
banner.
There is a park admission fee.

| Description: |
The walk is primarily on
natural surface trails within the park. The walk will feature autumn colors with
many scenic views of Lake Winnebago. The trail includes historic lime kilns and
passes centuries-old effigy mounds. The dominant feature of the park is the
Niagara Escarpment. The 6K trail stays below the escarpment, but the 10K trail
first drops over the escarpment and then returns to the top midway through the
walk. |
