Please Note:

The Madison Area Volkssport Association (Dairyland Walkers) is offering a bus trip Labor Day Weekend to do the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk.  As part of that trip we are sanctioning this AVA walk.   

Due to the nature of this event, registration will take place the evening before the walk (Sunday, September 2, 2012).  This event is open to everyone.

Pre-Rigistration:

There will be no pre-registration.  However, please let the Contact person listed below know if you plan to register to do the walk.

Bridge Vista Beach Hotel & Convention Center,  (Lobby) 1027 South Huron Avenue, Mackinaw City, MI 800-576-2842

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Sunday Evening, September 2, 2012  See note above.

Amenities:

Carry water with you, as there is no water available along the walk.  Portable restrooms will be available at both ends of the bridge.

Directions:

From the South: Take I-75 North and exit at Exit 337 to S Nicolet Street (a.k.a. Mackinaw Hwy). Turn right on S Nicolet Street. Turn right onto US-23. Go about half a mile. The hotel will be on the left. 

From the North: Take I-75 South and exit at Exit 338 onto US-23. Go about half a mile. The hotel will be on the left.

Parking:

Ample parking is available at the registration site for registration only.  Information about parking for the walk can be found at: 55th Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk

Description:

The Mackinac Bridge Walk is an annual event sponsored by the Mackinac Bridge Authority, the St. Ignace Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Mackinaw Area Chamber of Commerce.  This walk draws several tens of thousands of walkers every year.  The entire walk is on the bridge and approaches.  Walkers are advised to carry water and snacks.

Award &Fees:

There will be no award for this walk.
Free or $3.00 for IVV credit.

Pets:

Pets are not allowed on this walk.
