Directions:

From
I-90 take Hwy 30 exit and go west to N. Fair Oaks Ave. exit. Turn left (south
under Hwy 30) onto Fair Oaks. Go right at second light onto Atwood Ave.
(approximately 3/4 mile). Monty's is on the left (about 1/2 mile). |

Parking:

There is 2-hour meter parking
1/2 block from Monty's on Atwood or free unlimited street parking in the
neighborhood north (Rusk St. or Linden Ave). |
| Description: |
The walk follows
the Isthmus and Yahara River Parkway through one of Madison's earliest
neighborhoods, the first city park, shoreline Indian mounds where a sculpture by
Ho-Chunk artist Harry Whitehorse is located, and Olbrich Botanical Gardens. A
portion of the route is on an abandoned rail bed. Brief descriptions of
historical buildings and sites are provided. |
